Welcome to the Alacri User’s Guide!

Alacri gives you the power to update the content of your Web site without the need for technical expertise.

To use Alacri, you’ll need the following things:

q       The address of your provider’s Alacri installation. (For example, http://myprovider.alacri.net .)

q       The user ID and password provided you by your Web developer for logging into Alacri.

q       You may need your “FTP” or “Web” password, depending on how your Web developer has created your Alacri account.

q       Content (I.E., text or images) that you’d like to put in your Web site.

You’ll need to make the content for your Web site with any program that can create one of a few standard formats.

For text-only pages, that means any Word processor or spreadsheet program that allows you to save in Rich Text format (.rtf), Web (.htm, .html), or Microsoft Word (.doc) format. At this time we recommend that you use Microsoft Word; it is more convenient to update Web pages containing images or pictures with Word, and it offers a familiar and powerful interface for formatting your text.
